Dr. Patti L. Chance is Editor for The Rural Educator and Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Her areas of expertise include instructional leadership, supervision of instruction, curriculum development, school improvement, and the principalship. She also has a committed interest to the development of technology applications for school administrator preparation. Dr. Chance has served as a building level principal, assistant principal, and as a coordinator for K-12 gifted education programs, and she has taught at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. Dr. Chance serves on editorial boards for several national journals devoted to educational leadership and has published articles and chapters related to instructional supervision, educational administration preparation programs, and the application of technology to data-driven decision making. She is actively involved in national service to professional organizations, including the National Council of Professors of Educational Administration and the National Rural Education Association.
